Across Alliance

Chemnitz University of Technology and nine other European universities have set themselves the goal of establishing a joint European campus. Through joint study and learning programmes, simplified mobility options (on-site, online and hybrid) and a wide range of joint events with our communities and citizens, we will enrich the educational opportunities for students, learners and staff at the participating universities

Universities as Across Alliances

The Technical University of Chemnitz collaborates with eight alliances to jointly create a European university. Together, we can address the challenges and opportunities arising from our common characteristics. Here are brief profiles of the nine universities:

University of Banja Luka (Bosnia and Herzegovina)

The University of Banja Luka (Serbo-Croatian Универзитет у Бањој Луци) was founded in 1975 and is a state institution in Bosnia and Herzegovina. It currently comprises 16 faculties and is one of the two universities in Banja Luka. With around 15,000 students, it offers a wide range of study programmes and is a member of the European University Association. The university maintains partnerships with various universities, including those in Serbia.

Bialystok University of Technology

BUT was founded in 1949 and has a long tradition of educating engineers and young scientists. Today, BUT has almost 7.2 thousand students and 640 teachers - experts in their field - making it the largest technical university in the region.

Chemnitz University of Technology

 With 10,000 students and 500 academic staff, TU Chemnitz is the third-largest university in Saxony. Founded in 1836, TU Chemnitz focuses on interdisciplinary and cross-faculty cooperation in research and teaching. TU Chemnitz is characterized by an attractive and promising range of subjects, high quality of education and internationality.

University of Craiova

The University of Craiova was founded in April 1947 and is a state university in the Romanian city of Craiova with 25,000 students and about 2,000 academic staff. The University of Craiova is integrated into the European academic community and shares its cultural, moral, scientific and educational values.

University of Girona

Die UDG ist eine Universität im Nordosten Spaniens mit 16.000 Studenten und mehr als 160 wissenschaftliche Mitarbeiter. Sie wurde im Jahr 1991 gegründet und ihre Einrichtungen sind über die gesamte Stadt Girona verteilt. Mit 7 Instituten bietet Universität Girona eine Vielzahl von Fächern von Betriebswirtschaft bis Kunst an.

University of Nova Gorica 

The University of Nova Gorica is an independent, research-oriented and student-friendly university with 7 faculties and 10 institutions. It is the fourth-largest university in Slovenia and is located in the cities of Nova Gorica.

University of Perpignan

A local, multidisciplinary and innovative university with 10,000 students, 3 institutions and 4 faculties in Perpignan, France. Its cross-border location brings it good neighbourly relations, favoured by historical and cultural links with other universities.

University of Ruse

"Angel Kanchev" University of Ruse is a state university with 8000 students and 400 lecturers.  A university with an ancient history and dynamic presence, it is located at the crossroads of two European transport corridors with important administrative functions.

University of Udine

The University of Udine was founded in 1978 in connection with the Alps-Adriatic Working Community and in consideration of autonomy wishes in the region as a bilingual university and today has around 16,000 students.
